We appreciate the opportunity to have you as our patient!  Your first visit will be catered to your specific needs. Typically, we reserve about an hour for you to meet with the dentist, discuss your goals, and receive a comprehensive exam. Your exam may include an oral cancer screening, digital X-rays, and intraoral photos. The dentist will explain their findings and make recommendations for treatment. Foy Hamons, DDS

A native Texan, Dr. Hamons graduated as salutatorian of his high school class in Hardin, Texas before earning a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from Sam Houston University. He received many honors and awards during his undergraduate career and decided to further his education at the University of Texas Health Science Center. In 2000, Dr. Hamons graduated magna cum laude with his doctorate in dental surgery (DDS) degree. While in graduate school, Dr. Hamons was recognized for his Outstanding Achievement in Prosthodontics (replacement teeth) by the Southwest Prosthodontic Society.

Dr. Hamons joined Whitehouse Family Dentistry in July of 2000 as an associate and became a partner in March of 2007. He is dedicated to providing quality cosmetic and restorative dental procedures to his patients in a warm and friendly environment. He is a strong believer in patient education, and he is both compassionate and confident with dental procedures that he performs.

Devoted to continuing education, Dr. Hamons regularly attends professional association meetings. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, East Texas Dental Association, and the Smith County Dental Society. His dedication to his patients has begun to stretch beyond the borders of our dental office, and he has volunteered with dental mission trips that travel to other countries and also volunteers regularly at a local community clinic, Bethesda Health Clinic. During both the summers of 2006 and 2007, he went to Brazil with Amazon Outreach to provide dental services to the people of the Amazon region, and he anticipates many more trips throughout his dental career.

Dr. Hamons and his wife, Karrie, have been married since 1996 and are the proud parents of twins, Ethan and Emma. He and his family have a strong sense of family and of God. In his free time, Dr. Hamons enjoys spending time with his family, scuba diving, and working outdoors.

Hannah Reed, DDS

Dr. Reed was raised in Whitehouse, Texas since the age of two. She graduated in the top 10 of her class from Whitehouse High School in 2015. She then went to the University of Texas at Tyler earning a BS in Biology with summa cum laude honors. Pursing a lifelong dream, Dr. Reed attended dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she received her doctorate in dental surgery degree in 2022. While in dental school Dr. Reed was a member of the American Student Dental Association, the American Association for Women Dentists, and the American Academy of Oral Medicine.

Dr. Reed was eager to return to the East Texas area following the completion of her degree. She is dedicated to providing quality dental care to every patient and is eager to continue expanding her education with continuing education courses.

Dr. Reed and her husband, Zack, have been married since 2020. Together they have a dog named Kisses. In her free time, Dr. Reed, enjoys reading, baking, and needlepoint. Dr. Reed is looking forward to practicing and serving her community and hometown of Whitehouse, Texas.

Shelli Peters, DDS

Dr. Peters grew up in Pasadena, TX and graduated from South Houston High School in 1992.  She then graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 1996.  She then decided to pursue dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.  In 2000, Dr. Peters earned her DDS degree as Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Research.

Dr. Peters spent the first 12 years of her career in the Houston area.  She owned a private practice in the Atascocita area and after selling due to the desire to spend more time with her young family, she taught at the University of Texas School of Dentistry.  At the dental school, she taught senior dental students in Clinic, was head of the Senior Removable Partial Denture course, and Director of the Hope Clinic elective which took dental students to a non-profit clinic in Alvin, TX to perform dentistry.

She is dedicated to providing quality cosmetic and restorative dentistry to her patients in a kind and honest way. She is dedicated to continuing education and seeks to grow in her profession for the benefit of her patients.

Dr. Peters and her husband, Richard, have been married since 1996 and are the proud parents of two boys, Preston and Nolan. Dr. Peters enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and teaching in the Dental Hygiene program at TJC and as volunteer faculty at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston.
