A native Texan, Dr. Hamons graduated as salutatorian of his high school class in Hardin, Texas before earning a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from Sam Houston University. He received many honors and awards during his undergraduate career and decided to further his education at the University of Texas Health Science Center. In 2000, Dr. Hamons graduated magna cum laude with his doctorate in dental surgery (DDS) degree. While in graduate school, Dr. Hamons was recognized for his Outstanding Achievement in Prosthodontics (replacement teeth) by the Southwest Prosthodontic Society.
Dr. Hamons joined Whitehouse Family Dentistry in July of 2000 as an associate and became a partner in March of 2007. He is dedicated to providing quality cosmetic and restorative dental procedures to his patients in a warm and friendly environment. He is a strong believer in patient education, and he is both compassionate and confident with dental procedures that he performs.
Devoted to continuing education, Dr. Hamons regularly attends professional association meetings. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, East Texas Dental Association, and the Smith County Dental Society. His dedication to his patients has begun to stretch beyond the borders of our dental office, and he has volunteered with dental mission trips that travel to other countries and also volunteers regularly at a local community clinic, Bethesda Health Clinic. During both the summers of 2006 and 2007, he went to Brazil with Amazon Outreach to provide dental services to the people of the Amazon region, and he anticipates many more trips throughout his dental career.
Dr. Hamons and his wife, Karrie, have been married since 1996 and are the proud parents of twins, Ethan and Emma. He and his family have a strong sense of family and of God. In his free time, Dr. Hamons enjoys spending time with his family, scuba diving, and working outdoors.
